Within the scope of the project, 300 young people applied for volunteerism in jurisdiction of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. 26 disadvantaged applicants from Portuga,Romania,MacedoniaBosnia and Herzegovina and took part in 1-month EVS. Please find enclosed documents in final report. The age range is 18-30 of 26 young people who took part in EVS with the said project (average of age is 23). Besides, most of these young people who live in town centers were not aware of the European opportunities. A few of the youngsters who aware of the opportunities had no hope to benefit from the project. Even though 23 of them are graduate students, it didn’t seem possible to go abroad due to the economic conditions and traditional family structures. However the project’s conduction by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality assured to the families and ensured the involvement of the young people living in the town centers and villages to the project. As part of the project, 4 volunteers (2 Romanians, 2 Portugueses) took part in the EVS. In spite of terrorist incidents occurred in our country, these young people convinced their family about the safety of Antalya with the support of partner associations and so, four volunteers were hosted by our institution. These volunteers who are graduate students and their ages are between 22-25 haven’t visited Turkey before. They came to our country for the first time with this project. 6 non-governmental organizations in 5 countries are partners of our institution. 5 of them carry on a work about children and 1 of them informs about European opportunities. Young people, who participate in NGOs that carrying out activities related to children, conducted children activities. All of these children activities were realised by playing games. Activities such as board games, painting, wall painting, dance activities, rhythm studies, making toys from recyclable materials and flying kites were performed. Our Romanian partner worked with autistic children and capoeira dance performance with autistic children was realised. Sports activities were organized with children in the age range of 12-14. Participants took part in activities actively. Our partner in Mostar is working about youth opportunities. Our volunteers in Mostar informed the young people and organised cultural evenings. The activities were carried out with foreign volunteers. Even the new project was produced and written with the volunteers of institution. The foreign volunteers of our institution carried out activities with children in Turkey’s first EXPO themed flowers and children. The activities were organized together with children from different cultures. The primary purpose of the project is to provide experience about culture and life style of people from different countries and different cultures for young volunteers. During the activities, volunteers gained cross- cultural awareness, awareness of volunteering, increment of the foreign language ability, increase of personal development and self-confidence and experience of team work. EVS is the opportunity for the participants who are responsible and active in their social life and in labour market.
