The objective of the project is to develop active and sustainable societies by bringing neighbours together through cultural exchanges and encouraging preservation of Baltic culture within Latvia-Lithuania cross-border region. Objective will be achieved by organising various events in Latvia-Lithuania cross-border region: workshop on the territory of Salduve park by Mount Žuvininkai, folk art festivals, folk dance shows, folk song festivals, etc. Seminars and training of culture specialists in Latvia and Lithuania will also be organised. Virtual Baltic culture park will be designed (CD format), a CD of folk songs and amateur theatre performance DVD will be recorded. Common cultural events, promotion of interest in both nations’ culture similarities, differences and historical backgrounds, adaptation of outstanding historic and cultural heritage to the needs of society – these are the main goals of the project. It is expected that implementation of the project will enhance the dialogue between municipalities and residents of Latvia – Lithuania cross-border region and provide for efficient collaboration in preserving common Baltic culture traditions.
