“Crossing border with culture” is a project which aims at protecting and nurturing local Polish and Czech traditions from the Klodzko Region (in Czech: Kladske pomezi). We would like to encourage youth workers in disovering local customs and protecting them against being forgotten. We will implement this project in a small cross-border local partnership (1 NGOs from each side of the border Kudowa Zdrój - Nachod) to strengthen local identity through culture, traditions and common history.During their discussion, the youth and leaders from both organizations discovered lack of knowledge of local traditions although they live so close to each other. There is a big space for cooperation and creative work and we are expecting, as a result of our project, more open and friendlier atmosphere between citiziens living close to the border. The most effective way how to bring new ideas to the youth is to teach them first to their leaders. After that, the leaders can spread this knowledge within their youth groups. Subsequently, the leaders can meet and share the results of the learning not just for the youth but for the whole community.Local Christmas and Eastern traditions in the cross-border region have been selected as the base for mutual learning.12 project participants will meet twice during complementary seminars on local cultural heritage and traditions. These seminars will bring them new skills and knowledge.Participants will learn new handcraft production techniques, they will work with specialists, get new inspirations and ideas which they will use in their everyday work with the youth.
