Project "Cross the Culture" was a Youth Exchange in Rustavi (Georgia), in dates 03.-13.8.2015 involving four partners: NGO" Pridunajska Aktivna Mlade?" Slovakia-Applicant/sending Organization, Association "Georgian Youth for Europe" Georgia-Hosting Organization; "Youth for city-City for youth"-Latvia (Sending-Partner organization); FYCA -Armenia( Sending-Partner Organization) Each Sending organization was represented by 7 participants and 1 Group Leader, Hosting organization was represented by 6 Participants+2 Group leader( Program and Logistic issues); Total Amount of People was 32 together ( 8 of them was young people with fewer opportunities); Four organizations together wanted to educate young people in the cultural heritage of their own and other societies and the world. During the project ?Cross the culture? (The Aim), the participants had an opportunites to search for common denominators in their history and culture and they tried to express their results in an artistic way. This provided the youngsters deep inter-cultural understanding; and real mutual inter-cultural experience which substituted stereotypes about other countries. The objectives were : ? Encourage innovation and creativity, intellectual and artistic freedom, research and cultural exchange between Slovakia, Georgia, Armenia,Latvia; ? To connect and build bridges across cultures ? To promote youth interactions, network and partnership ? to enhance the social inclusion, active citizenship and employability of young people with fewer opportunities All working methods used during the project was chosen to stimulate participant mutual communication, experience exchange and discussions. In the first exchange day we prepared several name games and team building activities to help participants get to know each other, what helps them to make a better connection and not to be afraid talking in front of all participants .The basic methodology of the project included on communication based and ?learn by doing? methods as : Discussions ? many ways how to organize it in smaller and bigger groups, together with some visual auxiliary materials or without them. Discussions promote participant integration, experience exchange and increase understanding. Brainstorming - a group creativity technique to generate ideas for the solution of a problem. Will be used when starting to work in work groups, street action ideas and presentations. Wall writing - form of brainstorming. Participants will write their ideas on small pieces of paper and paste them on a wall. The advantages of this method are that youngsters can sit and think quietly for themselves before they are influenced by the others' ideas, and the pieces of paper can be repositioned to aid clustering of ideas. Role games ? facilitator sets up a scenario where the participants are assigned different roles that could be possible as well in real situation. The play gives the participants opportunities to act out various roles chosen to represent actual roles that would be in the field situation. The play gives the participants an opportunity to analyse some of the social dynamics that occur. This method will be used to play out different situations about culture expression, tolerance and mutual understanding problems. Group work and Creative workshops (stencil, legends) ? participants will be divided into nationally mixed working groups. It will promote inter-cultural dialogue, mutual understanding and experience exchange. Working side by side to reach common goals will give an opportunity to get to know other culture traditions, habits and customs as well as learn new skills and abilities. Leaders of these group works and creative workshops will have experience in international team-work organizing. City game - To introduce the multicultural capital and to give participants chance to broaden their mind on the different minority communities that live there. Also to encourage participants to communication with locals. Presentations ? to promote youngsters presentation skills, ability to speak at big audience, to express opinion and to take a firm stand. Stencil art - Opportunity to connect national symbols to modern way of art, giving participants freedom for creativity. We are glad to tell that everyone from our Youth Exchange was so happy to get some new informations. Even for organizer some of results were shocking. We knew a bit about each other and now the participants and liders knew more about behaving, habits, national heros, national holiday etc. We hope so that all participants will use this knowledge in their future life.
