Cross-border promotion of high-quality vine-growing and wine-making in the Eastern Veneto.
Start date: Nov 30, 2003, End date: Jun 29, 2005 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project stems from the need to enhance and promote the quality wine production in the Lison Pramaggiore and Slovenian DOC (registered designation of origin) areas, by increasing the visibility of the product. The first stage of the project involves the study, survey and collection of data, in order to publish a bilingual brochure: “Vine-growing methods in the Lison Pramaggiore DOC area”. The main purpose of research is detecting the types of farming that are most profitable from the qualitative and economic points of view, and which can highlight the vocation and the peculiarities of Lison Pramaggiore and the Slovenian reference territories, thus favouring the best associations with the other types of cross-border typical production. The following stage of the project involves dissemination meetings and events about the importance of vinegrowing in Eastern Veneto, the zoning and enhancement of high-quality wines, with special regard to the topic “Lison Pramaggiore: a territory of wine and sea”. In Venice, a cross-border comparative quality assessment of the producers’ wines in the area concerned has been carried out. The project envisages also the preparation of a multilingual CD-Rom to publicize the results achieved and to confer visibility on the vine-growing areas involved in this initiative.
