The project aims to intercultural education of community in Kwidzyn and Gardeja by increasing knowledge and skills of volunteers working with children in kindergarten and youth mentally impaired.In the frame of our project we will organize a 12-month European Voluntary Service. We intend to host 2 volunteers from 2 different EU countries (Spain, Turkey). Volunteers will work in the Special Schools in Kwidzyn and Kindergarten in Gardeja.The aim of the project is to increase the competence of the volunteers working with children and young people mentally impaired. Besides residents of Kwidzyn and Gardeja overthrow stereotypes towards other nationalities, particularly to Turkey and Muslims. We assume that the meeting of the volunteers is a very safe and natural way of learning the otherness.During our EVS project, volunteers could observe the work of the organization in which they work, slowly join in the work of the facility to finally pursue their own efforts in / in groups. Thanks to volunteers acquire specific knowledge and skills that will also be verified during their stay in Poland.Another aspect will be increasing openness to otherness of people working with volunteers. With EVS they experience working with individuals representing different experience of life, the way you work, etc.. By creating projects together these people and volunteers will be free to control its development and teach each other, which will contribute to achieving the objectives of the project.The last target group, involved in the project are the people of Kwidzyn and Gardeja. With EVS volunteers they could learn about other cultures, eradicating stereotypes and get to know their otherness in life, work and learning.
