Creative Enterprises Network European Window (CINEW)

The aim of the project is to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the creative industries through the development of new products, access to markets, adoption of new technologies and techniques, i.e. networking, clustering, innovation and technology transfer. There are six specific objectives Enable enterprises to participate in 8 showcase events to expand their businesses Run 12 creative events bringing enterprises from the creative sector together with those from different sectors to pursue joint developments To develop, pilot and disseminate knowledge networking tools to form a working system by the end of the project, and which will form part of the Creative City To establish working relations and networking with at least six other creative industry support bodies and networks across Europe A set of activities and business plan for the sustainability of the Creative City 100 enterprises involved in the project in a transnational manner with 30 gaining business benefits. A further 200 enterprises will be involved in project actions at a regional level It aims to redress the isolation faced by enterprises in the peripheral regions through the development of a 'Creative City,' a complex of web and tangible activities. The project has five general objectives: # enterprises reach out to stimulate trade and economic growth in the Atlantic regions # firms participate in joint working to innovate or access markets # promote innovation through advanced knowledge networking tools # network Atlantic Area enterprises to take advantage of trans European support and enter markets # develop a sustainable package of activities. It contributes to the Atlantic Area Strategy by developing a transnational entrepreneurial and innovation network as specified in priority one. It meets objective 1.3, 'Stimulate economic conversion and diversification by promoting regional endogenous potential and objective 1.1 'develop knowledge transfer between companies and research centres, enhance competitiveness and innovation capacities.' It counteracts the hurdles of peripheral regions with regard to access to technology and market places. Achievements: University of Swansea have proposals for development in the film and related industries sector, covering TV and film production, skills development, studio space, graphic design etc. They are incorporating many drivers in the development of this sector. Find more information on the projects website: http://www.cinew.eu/Swansea's proposed showcase startup weekend will take place on 21st November for new enterprises and their proposed Knowledge networking with a media cluster.CEEI Cadiz's programme, commences with an event at the end of June, a fashion, art and design exhibition. A CINEW information stand will be provided there, to identify companies that could benefit from the network and there will be a fashion workshop.There is also a proposal for a film event in Cadiz (6th to 13th September). Mayo's (both Mayo CC and WESTBIC) proposed events include:The Feile na Tuaithe showcase Business Ideas week which will be taking place in September. (16th to 23rd, the 17th will be the creative industries day). 3D projection mapping may be done this year.Work in the use of the Irish Language in the promotion of business.A new website ‘filmmayo’, targeted at development of the film sector. There are plans for a film event at the end of October, possibly with experts invited for matchmaking potential. There could be masterclasses, tours for location scouts etc, targeting high end film producers rather than startups. The project will add an international dimension to their Laval Virtual event in April next year.TLM are working on the digital cluster. They are proposing to host workshops, including one recent one on how to develop your internet traffic, ie ‘enterprise support’.Another proposed event for 7th October will be ‘Digital Technology meets Culture and Tourism’.There will be a book Festival in September 2015 but most of the preparation work will be done before the end expiry of the CINEW project. They will also be providing assistance to companies who wish to travel to events, there are many fashion events coming up.12-14th September- Craft & Art event. ADIST are preparing for CINEW participation in the Lisbon Design show, which will take place in Portugal on the 8th to the 12th October. There will also be a mini maker fair, with high tech craft on 19th-21st September. A 2 day product design and fine arts workshop has already been completed, details on facebook.TQM are developing their project ‘group west’, a residence for artists, with writing and filming assistance for artists for bilateral projects. Now they have a Euro Film Lab. They are also helping publishing, marketing, innovative and collaborative projects. They are also proposing to run a pilot activity for ‘food meeting creativity’. There are lots of fairs in brittany in the creative sector. There is also a web festival in July.
