The basis for the project is a detected need of people with intellectual disabilities for respectful life and treatment; legislation in most European countries has developed towards social inclusion and improvement of the quality of life of disabled persons. The project will develop training packages for trainers of people with intellectual disabilities, based on the values of social inclusion, empowerment and self-advocacy. Training units will be set up to promote the official accreditation in countries, which need this training. Aim is to develop, adopt and implement an innovative Accelerated Learning approach to social sector training based on theories how we learn, how we can support learning and positive behaviour in clients with intellectual disabilities. Phases: study of existing methods and curricula, needs analysis, drafting a value-based curricula and training programme, development of innovative training methods, piloting the training methods in different modules, evaluation and adjustment of training methods, setting up virtual Training Units. Dissemination by three European-wide organisations and the partner network. Training curricula will be available in Internet. Participating countries: BE, IE, LU, HU, NL, UK, BG
