PROJECT
FINISHED
Have we met Europe?
This was a multilateral project and it dealed with a meeting with people from Italy, Sweeden, Greece and Spain, who were between 15 and 25 years old. The period where the project took place was July of 2014.
In general, the topics treated were European active citizenship and, specially, we worked on the European alliance´s sense promotion and on the democratic participation of European youth, the solidarity development and the tolerance promotion and, for the last, the realization of the activities in direct contact with the environment.
In order to get good results, the exchange project was supported on the attainment of some workshops, most of them were practised at the same time, but the participants took turns. In this way, every person could participate in each workshop.
“European citizenship: the weighing scale” workshop. This workshop consisted in making a weighing scale where we had to put the advantages and the disadvantages of being a part of the European Union.
“Europoli” workshop. It was a simple, dynamic and funny game which did members be able to participate in groups. This game let the participants show their knowledge about History, the evolution of the European Union, and they could know interesting and important aspects that the whole European population must know.
Journalism workshop: “Meet Europe”. The activity dealed with looking for information in newspapers and magazines about a current topic connected to the European Union. Subsequently, they had to do a small summary and exposed it in front of the rest of the group. The objective of this workshop is to know the most important features of the European Union, comparing the different prominent topics of each country, valuing social problems which exist in the European Union, and encouraging the young people interesting on analysing and detecting important news.
“European Trivial” workshop. We proved their knowledge about Geography and European History through a test.
Cinema Forum workshop: Good bye, Lenin. We analysed the consequences which were produced after the fall of the Berliner wall, consequences that helped Europe to be a “new Europe”.
“Eurogymkhana” workshop. We organized a gymkhana with the purpose of situating the 28 states which form Europe and knowing some aspects of them.
“Recycling the folk class´ power” workshop. This workshop consisted in making a really big European map with recycled paper. We wanted to be aware of an “ecologic Europe” through the learning of the recycle paper process and to know our continent. We also wanted to make the participants closer to Europe and we wanted them to know the democratic participation of youth in Europe.
“Have we actually met the European cultural diversity?” workshop. The main objective of this workshop was to get a mutual comprehension. Young people believe that they know everything about cultures, but the truth is they should know much more things.
“Muppet master Europe” workshop. We made muppets with recycled materials. We had to build a small stage, and we represented in groups some performances in which we treated topics as prejudices, tolerance, equality between both sexes and / or racism.
We completed this information with showing the participants around the city , in order to get to know its History, sightseeing and Andalusian environment, for practising sports open air.
Finally, we dedicated an important space to thematic nights with the objective of joining the rest of the countries´ cultures through their dances, food etc, and encourage our participants to be more intercultural and tolerant between young people, comparing different life styles and recognizing similarities and differences between European countries.
