PROJECT
FINISHED
"Conecting GeneratiON" The project aims to be an international seminar of youth workers from 7 different countries to exchange good practices and reflections on the possibilities offered by intergenerational exchange of skills between young and old. Key skills of life and human development. Employability skills for youth, based on experience. Experience provided and shared by the elderly. Culture can be a good excuse for it, the use of new technologies, intergenerational dialogue and debate, the result of the process. We decided to gather different generations, young and elder people in a seminar “Conecting GeneratiON” where they will have a possibility to communicate and work together on social media through non formal methods. We think there is a gap between the generations nowadays and we believe the main reason is a lack of communication. There are many ways of receiving and sharing information with millions of people in the world and one of them is social media. The idea is to give the participants a possibility to find out and share more about this type of media therefor we think it could fill the gap in between the generations where both would actively involve in social life. The project will also give other opportunities to participants like interact, find similarities and differences, break stereotypes, become more tolerant and understanding and etc.. The project is a mobility of youth workers materialized in a seminar to be held from 22-29 June 2016 in Zarautz-San Sebastian, Basque Country, Spain, through techniques of non-formal education and with a duration of 8 days of activity. with the participation of 7 countries (Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Italy, Georgia and Spain). To realize this idea we plan to gather at a seminar 35 largest youth workers and young people from 7 different countries, 5 of each participant. Plus two facilitators of the host organization, which will also be youth workers, making a total of 37 participants. Through non-formal activities they will be given a space to share their valuable experiences and exchange opinions about intergenracional skills. Our objectives are: - to connect different generations through social media- to exchange experiences and knowledge between the generations- to combat the gap between the generations - to break stereotypes- to promote equality, tolerance and understandingAs it was mentioned above, project’s main idea is to fill the gap between the young and elder people through social media. The participants will break many stereotypes, get closer to each other and for longer impact learn the ways of using social media. After the project they will keep updated, connected to each other and other parts of the society.
