This training course we want to develop abilities of cultural workers working in cultural centres and NGO's to increase their financial independence of their institutions and contribute to solving issue of youth unemployment at local level. Moreover, we want to develop a new perspective towards cultural entrepreneurship, move from the traditional perspective of cultural heritage towards rediscovering traditions in a new and modern ways, see perspective of youth culture, popular culture.
Objectives:
- develop cultural, social entrepreneurship skills of cultural workers;
- develop sustainable cultural entrepreneurship ideas, which could be implemented at local level;
- learn new ways of problem solving and develop new youth friend cultural activities at local level;
- develop ideas for possible actions for future cooperation of participants and their organizations;
- contribute to solving local cultural and social issues, such as youth unemployment, lack of financing for cultural activities, poor quality of cultural activities, especially when we talk about education through cultural activities.
We aim to involve participants, who are directly working with young people from local communities through various cultural activities (arts, dance, music, theatre, ethnography, etc.)
Main target group is cultural workers directly working with young people on daily basis. After consultations with project partners we know that approximate age of potential participants is form 20 till 45 years.
Competencies related to entrepreneurial capabilities we’ll focus on:
- Being able to see a “wider picture” of local real realities participants are working in. Analyzing local realities and searching
- Strategic (long term) planning of entrepreneurial initiatives,
- Development of ideas for cultural/social entrepreneurship,
- Quality costumer services.
- Communication skills,
- Negotiation skills,
- Cooperation skills,
- Management skills,
- Leadership and intercultural communication,
- Basics in youth employability.
Training programme is based on principles of non-formal education
Target groups that will have and impact from planned training course:
1. Participants of the training course – cultural workers working with young people - will develop their competences for carrying out various entrepreneurial initiatives. These entrepreneurial capabilities will allow participants to be proactive in their communities and use existing conditions (or create new possibilities) for bringing their cultural services to a higher, self-financing level.
Till now we face the reality, that cultural workers are more tend to complain about their reality, possibilities and at the same time taking no independent action to make it better. We believe that mentioned set of entrepreneurial competencies will allow cultural workers to become a proactive, cultural specialist, who are taking active role in local communities and are capable to attract additional financial recourses for implementation of meaningful, educational services.
2. Young people will be the indirect beneficiaries. The cultural workers with new entrepreneurial competences will be capable to influence the situation of employability in local communities in following ways: 1) involve young people into certain entrepreneurial actions, by this developing the entrepreneurial capabilities of young people. 2) make an impact of employability situation among youth in local communities 3) encourage young people to take entrepreneurial actions by themselves.
3. Partner organizations (organizations working in cultural sphere) – they will have resource people in their working environment that can share experience, tools, knowledge and understanding of basics of entrepreneurial approach in cultural industries. This will allow partner organizations to bring new, autonomous services into the educational work with young people.
4. Local communities - participants of the training course – cultural workers- are all actively working with youth at local level. Cultural workers will be implementing their own local and international projects in partner countries that will bring positive changes to lives of their local communities.
