The project "CommunicACTion and CreACTion for EU" is an individual EVS and involves for 6 months two volunteers (one activity with two flows), one from the Russian Federation and one from Turkey , in activities with young people, children and teenagers in Naples, Italy, at CEICC – Centro Europeo Informazione Cultura e Cittadinanza, which is an office of the Municipality of Naples jointly managed with the Universities of Naples. The Centre’s mission is to make Europe closer to its citizens by supporting the European integration process through information and activities aimed at facilitating exchanges between different peoples and cultures and enhancing common identities. The activities carried out by CEICC-Napoli are addressed to the citizens of Southern Italy and Mediterranean area mainly, with a specific view to young generations. The project addresses the themes of European awareness and European citizenship since the volunteers’ main tasks are to promote the meaning of the European citizenship and the feeling to belonging to a wider community through an exchange between their origin culture and the local one, to contribute to prevent and fight xenophobia, stereotypes and any kind of discrimination based on non-formal education activities. The main activities for EVS volunteer consist in helping to organize initiatives to involve young people and children in info-days and workshops about EU training opportunities, in raising citizens’ awareness of their rights, in promoting multilinguism and developing new skills and competences, according to the changing labour market. The volunteers will work trhough non-formal education methods and activities with the target groups. Furthermore, the project addresses two main fields of activities: Media and communications/Youth information and Library and Cultural activities since each EVS volunteer is involved in the Info-desk and Info-shop centre of CEICC, in order to participate and cooperate in cultural and social activities run by the centre and to reach and involve local people, in particular the ones who are less informed and active because of social, cultural and geographical reasons. Each volunteer has the opportunity to develop their own attitudes through other current projects or new initiatives, participating into the drafting and planning of the activities, showing the benefits of cultural diversity and the added value of the EU citizenship and its rights. An Italian language course is provided to each volunteer, plus other non formal trainings oriented to help volunteers in their daily activities and to discover their potentialities and strenghten their skills, plus any other training required in case of specific need.
The project foresees two main actions: the first is aimed at young people (age 18-30), the second is aimed at children and teenagers (age 8-18).
