Common Values for Common Actions
Start date: Aug 1, 2012,
The idea “Common Values for Common Actions” arose from the success of the three previous youth exchanges “Meting of Cultures-2009”, “Meeting of Cultures-Meeting of Values 2010” and “Diversity our Value-2011”. The achieved results and outcomes invited the young people towards a continuation and further development of this vision. The 8 days activity, hosted by Youth Alliance Krusevo, will take place in Krusevo, FYR Macedonia from 1st to 9th September and will gather 58 young people coming from 10 countries:Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/99, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and FYR Macedonia. The main aim of this youth exchange is promotion of EU values and values of youth participation as added values to actual multicultural societies in EU and SEE. In a wider sense this initiative will contribute to: the broadening of the cultural awareness, intercultural exchange by discussing different experiences and practices related to youth employment and active participation, and development of future actions in the framework of the YIA programme. The envisaged non formal learning methods (presentations, thematic workshops, outdoor activities, simulations, games, exercises and role plays) will highlight the project’s strong dimension for exploring common values for common actions. The design of the activity program will encompass participants’ interest and needs through the various subtopics of Cultural diversity and Young people in multicultural society, combining with topics of Intercultural competencies for Youth employment and Youth Participation. We strongly believe that “Common Values for Common Actions” will raise the awareness of the certainty that the more we know about each other and our neighbors, the greater chance we have of understanding and appreciating the differences between us and putting them in function for joint actions.
