Colorful minds, say NO to racism! The project presented here mainly aims to get young people at risk of social exclusion of the SCI's group called YUWG and from different European countries, to participate in an exchange organized in Catalonia . The different partners of SCI will select the participants and the coordinator for the exchange. For 9 days, they will be staying in a foreign country where we will address different social issues. The specific objective of the project is to work different issues such as racism, immigration and the construction of hte modern democracies. Through non formal education we will indirectly we will helpb building self-confidence among the participants from diferent origins and religions. Directly, thorugh gams, debates, theater, we will discuss about immigration, the construction of Europe and the current crisis of the European identity. Our objective is to challenge the preconceived ideas of other religions and cultures so that they can better understand de growth of xenofobia and racism in Europe and that they tkae a stand for a better world. Along the exchange they will create an artistic project to reflect their learnings in group and show it to the rest of the group. Young YUWG participants are young adults mainly with family and economic difficulties who live in an environment of exclusion. Throughout the course, SCI partners will select and prepare these young people to make the most of the exchange. They will have to offer them training on the operation of the exchanges, the SCI values and English language to facilitate the communication during the exchange. The expected impact on participants is their awareness on issues related to interculturality, racism and the construction of Europe . In particular, the questioning of their principles and the development of critical thinking. We hope that young people become empowered and gain self-esteem through self-awareness and the contact with different realities. We consider the change in the micro sphere has great effects on local, regional and national level as it improves social cohesion, it increases participation in public life and therefore, democracy is enriched.
