College for International Coop & Development - International Volunteers for Development
Start date: Jul 1, 2011,

The topic of the project will be "International Volunteers for Development". It is going to last 10 days and will be held in the end of July and at the beginning of August 2011. It will involve 40 participants from four different EU countries - England, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Denmark. Its main focus will be the international volunteering and it will aim at giving the participants a taste of what it means to work as a volunteer. A number of workshops will be organised so that the participants gain skills needed to work as a volunteer, help people in need, and make a difference. In addition, presentations about the currently running voluntary projects in different countries will be held. By this, participants will understand the real function of the volunteering. Moreover, visits to some NGOs and informal organisations working with unprivileged youth will be organised so that the participants get to travel around a bit and get involved as volunteers in social activities to support young people with fewer opportunities. After the project the participants will write reports, which will be published in the CICD newsletter, and they will also organise info meetings with other young people to share with them the results of the project and to explain them the importance of volunteering.
