Coaching tools in counsellingThe group of counsellors at Vestegnen HF & VUC consists of altogether 13 counsellors. We have experienced that coaching tools work, and we want to develop our use of coaching further. Two counsellors have coach training. We want to provide for further training of these two counsellors who play a key role in our counselling development strategy. Our ambitions with regard to coaching are to be visionary and innovative when it comes to the challenges faced by our students. We already have a number of tools and successes but we need experience from other institutions who work systematically with Coaching/Peer Coaching. We want all our counsellors to be able to conduct coaching interviews with students focusing on motivation, action and perseverance. The main objective is to keep our students on track and thus secure their opportunities on the labour market and in training and education. The experience that we gain in the counselling team will be disseminated throughout the organisation, and we will set up a project that can be used by our local cooperation partners UU Vestegnen, Studievalg København and job centres.Targeted and concerted efforts on the part of teachers and counsellors together with the individual student will improve our students' job competences and reduce the dropout rate.
