Cross border co-operation will be strengthened by supporting the creation anddevelopment of cross-border clusters. The granted financial support is alsoaimed at this purpose and has been used to make preparations for boostingcooperation in the relevant regions: sector analyses and working papers have beenmade, communications strategy has been elaborated, a portal has been established,and clusters have been surveyed in neighbouring counties. A study of successful clusterdevelopment policies in OECD countries was also useful and necessary. Related to theproject a long term proposal for programmes was developed including organizingseminars and preparing studies which also outlines the roles, responsibilities andcompetencies for the background institutions and project partners.
