This Training Course was defined according to the uniqueness of the projects’ theme in order to guide and empower youth leaders/workers’ development of competencies about the new media use, social media, citizenship, street actions, flash mobs and the tools related to the active citizenship and communication, ideas expression. Given that, we proposed a Training Course aimed to improve youth workers' skills about the idea expression as to be active citizens, applying also a digital citizenship, in order to improve their methods for sharing information with youngsters, thus to help them understand how to be active citizens and to express themselves. The Training Course was proposed as a starting point for obtaining the rules and the methods, the new ways on media use, to attract youngsters, but also to make them aware of the potential of new media, going deep in tools and methods, but also putting in practice those tools during the proposed workshops. They participated in a preparation of a social campaign about citizenship to be shared in all countries involved, made by video and with new media use, but also they will prepare an event in Zonguldak, Turkey, a final exhibition, a street event to share the results of the project. This project is a Training Course that involved fourteen countries: Turkey as EU candidate country, Italy as founder of EU, and other EU and Non EU countries. It is important to have members and non member country together, to compare the concept of citizenship, the digital system and the digital citizenship, that is made by new media and expression of people, as democracy, useful to the integration and EU enlargement. The training involved 32 participants coming from Turkey, Bulgaria, Denmark, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Greece, Estonia, Lithuania, Macedonia and Slovenia and it took place in Zonguldak, Turkey from 13th to 20th October 2015. The training followed the rules of non-formal education thus included interactive presentations, practical exercises, workshops, open discussions, team-building activities, opportunities for experiential learning, with the presentation of the issues related to the topic. The main topics were set as the following: -definition of citizenship and EU citizenship; -citizenship use and tools; - promotion of correct use of new media; - dissemination of tools about new technologies issues, teaching about non-formal and informal education in youth projects; - citizenship and new media, how to combine them; - drawing conclusions about this project for preparation of a social campaign about citizenship. The main objectives were: - to create or develop new communication channels and platforms (such as: Facebook, Youtube, Twitter), where use citizenship tools; - to raise awareness on the social issues relevant to the work of participants among them and their target groups; - to stimulate the sense of entrepreneurship and responsibility for their work among participants (a lot of young people feel resigned and put off not being able to reach out to their target group or raise voice on the important topic. Our project will help them use new tools to promote their work and focus most of their strength on issues they are working with); - to create a link between professional business and social work by showing that skills relevant to work and career can be used and developed also in youth work, making the said person more attractive on a labour market. In this manner, this project included individual and group activities, skills-development workshops on cultural awareness, self-assessment and improvement of key competences, for enabling them to be aware of citizenship and of new media as tool, to know how it is possible to make instruments the an opportunity for youngsters, prevent risks. Also, participants were included in open discussions in order to give them an opportunity to discuss and share views and opinions about the project’s theme, to share experience and knowledge. Consequently, taking part in projects’ activities contributed to development of their capabilities by enhancing intellectual, moral, spiritual, social, emotional and professional competencies, as well as gaining team building and leadership skills. Besides that, they were involved in outdoor activities in order to learn more about the local culture, tradition and customs. The aim of the Training was not be only directed towards improvement of the skills of youth workers, but also to work on common tools and strategies to be used in future youth projects. In addition, it allowed to identify and accep their responsibilities as individuals, group members and citizens of their communities. Given that, participant will be able to apply those skills and knowledge in development and implementation of future qualitative youth projects.
