Citizen of Europe today
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Dec 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The idea for the project came in recent months, especially following social developments (and the results of the European elections in 2014) of some EU countries. It is now well known progressive disenchantment, especially by young people, to the national and international policies, also accompanied by a general lack of interest in social activities. A lot of people, unfortunately, speak about active citizenship and youth policy is strange, heavy and boring. It is something that, as it seems to postpone their politics and bureaucracy, is reputed to be avoided. The value attributed to active citizenship, by which we mean the participation of citizens in civil and social life of their country, the fulfillment of its obligations as a citizen and an awareness of their own rights and those of others, is in gradual decline. The objectives that the association aims to achieve are: to encourage the people to a more active participation in the social and democratic life within their own country and within the EU, to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity and introduce them to the labor market on a European scale and associations (including through the development of basic skills and transversal, such as entrepreneurship, digital skills and multilingualism). The course was open to all age within in the age group 18-30, boys and girls, strongly interested in the project presented here, willing to learn the information that will be dispensed during the course as well as to carry out the activities in a multicultural environment rich diversity and shades. Many of them fall into the category "people with fewer opportunities", especially those with "economic, social and geographical obstacles" The course consisted of twenty participants (including a group leader for each group) from: Italy, Romania, Georgia and Greece. All activities was conducted according to the criteria of non formal education, using participatory methods based on the interests of the young participants in order to develop processes and attitudes such as self-awareness, leadership;empathic listening and constructive criticism; in particular, this course used the following methods from both the staff and the participants presentations, debates, games (including those roles, indoor and outdoor), quizzes, reflections, workshops, exercises, analysis, and various modes creative expression (in particular video, posters, photos and sketches). The impact and expected results involved: - Participants (awareness of the issue addressed, stimulate the inter-cultural dialogue and have a more precise idea about the social/labor opportunities provisions made by the EU. Deepening concepts such as tolerance, brotherhood, friendship, and respect for diversity, acquiring a more precise idea and aware of the European Union, its role and its importance that it can have on society and people. It will also be stimulated creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit of young people by increasing the sense of esteem and self responsibility and improving the knowledge of the English language); - The partners (develop greater cohesion, acquiring new thematic material to promote and disseminate in their respective countries, to develop new ideas and suggestions, to improve and enhance future collaborations and projects under the Erasmus +) - involvement of the press and local media, politicians and the public external the course.
