? Circus For Inclusion ; SHOW MUST GO ON ? is a youth exchange that brought together 32 youngsters (Italy, United Kingdom, Belgium and Spain) interested and / or experienced in the fields of street arts, circus etc. Most importantly, youngesters who were willing to share, exchange, and explore, through these art forms, questions of identity, integration of minorities in the community and immigration in general. The meeting took place between 6th and 13th of October in 2014, in several locations of Gran Canaria island ( Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Las Palmas) Insisting in a role of arts as primary mode of inclusion and youth work, we have conducted several workshops with local young people, since circus is an art that can easily include everyone, and it is perfect way to share and learn. Using dynamics and different games, in joint activities with Centers for People with Disabilities, schools , we´ve managed to increase and awareness and refine youngsters towards the power of change that can be produced using the circus and art as a tool for social inclusion. ACHIEVED GOALS: - Increasing participation and expression of young people with fewer opportunities in the community, and the awareness of people with disabilities. - Introduce the advantages of circus as express art, as a training and educational tool, inclusive, employment and entrepreneurship. - Fostering a sense of belonging to the European community among the young participants and young people and artists from St. Lucia, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the island of Gran Canaria in general. - Open a creative and tolerant space for dialogue between young people from different cultures, using the circus as a tool of expression and exchange. - Educate young people about the issue of immigration in Europe, and promote respect and tolerance between cultures - Create a common show that express different points of views on immigration, the figure of the foreigner in a society, integration difficulties that often occur etc. It is not intended to impose an opinion or a point of view, but reflect the need for tolerance towards diversity. - Disseminate and publicize the project through a video on the whole process, creative and artistic as well as the conclusions and final assessment by participants. Through games, discussions, practical sessions and sharing techniques, participants directly discussed the issue of the multi-identity and integration, using art as a model of expression and exchange. This mix of disciplines and cultures was the starting point of the meeting during which the young people had time and space to exchange knowledge and experiences about their cultures, practices Circus and artistic diversity, integration of cultural minorities in the society, reflecting the diversity that exists in Europe. The workshops were constructed in a way to meet, exchange and learn from these young people and share with them the dream of a society where all diversities can live together. Through collaboration, involvement and active participation in the project of several associations, public institutions, schools, occupational centers, cooperation with the Invasion Circus Festival, the multiplication of results and creation guarantees new synergies how will create networks and carry out new projects under the Erasmus + program. The purpose of this exchange was to use art, circus and street theater, to open dialogue between young people from different countries and with young people of the island, as well as raise awareness to the risks of social exclusion that are seen in the day of each one of us, and promote the values of collaboration and mutual understanding, tolerance towards other cultures and respect between eachothers.
