Circus for Change - a tool for education, health and social development
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jan 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

„Circus for Change – a tool for education, health and social development“ is a meeting of professionals that took place from thr 11th to 13th of November 2014 at child- and youth circus CABUWAZI in Berlin, Germany. This three-day seminar gathered professionals in the field of pedagogical work in circus arts in order to have professional exchange, to establish and stimulate long-term and sustainable co-operations between youth organisations and their youth workers, and to promote the development of professional and personal competences of the participants. The main topic is the use of circus pedagogics as a mean for the promotion of key skills, for social integration, for a democratic and participative engagement and for the support of health lifestyles at and with young people. For more than ten years, CABUWAZI is collaborating with other youth circusses from all over the world. The participating organisations in this project wanted to connect to pursue innovative networking for an active European and internationale exchange in the work of circus pedagogics. The participants were 16 experts from 6 different European countries and from 4 partners from partner countries in the Middle East, who are involved as youth workers, pedagogues and/or coordinators and project managers in their organisations. We worked on topics like: how to cooperate more for EVS?; how to tour with a youth-production?; how to teach without words/for blind people?; how to exchange training methodes? But most of the time went into organising a youth exchange that will take place in Berlin in the summer of 2015.
