In Egypt, almost half of the 80 million inhabitants live in the Nile Delta. The population is very young: the average age is 24 years old and an Egyptian in three under 15. We hope to implement the project "Circ us!" to enable youth workers, circus artists and social workers of Europe and the Mediterranean to develop their teaching techniques of social circus for these kids.Social circus is a citizen action method using circus arts as intervention tools. It addresses various public in difficulty: marginalized youth, refugees, etc. The social circus activities benefit their participants by encouraging self-transcendence and its limitations, the development of self-esteem, confidence in its means, physical activity, cooperation, mutual support and spirit citizen. Learning circus techniques are not an end in itself; It aims above all personal and social development of participants and their communities. In this, the social circus acts as a powerful lever community transformation.Circ us! aims to exchange and the development of teaching skills among participants from Europe and the Mediterranean practicing social circus. Through an exchange of best practices, we hope to develop methods, tools and social circus exercises adapted for young people in the specific context of the Mediterranean countries. Through exchange workshops and training using non-formal learning methods, participants will jointly develop an educational model: a series of workshops culminating in the creation and representation of a performance including professional circus , amateurs and novices. The project will result in the creation of performances in situ, made by the participants and young Egyptians of the Delta region, represented in their local community and documented on video and disseminated at European level.The group of participants in the training will consist of 5 French, 10 German and Egyptian 5, 5 and 5 young professionals from the region of intermediate Delta or showing a strong interest in circus arts. The project includes two activities: one preparatory visit for 6 participants from partners and 1 training room for 20 participants. The preparatory visit will take place from 8 to 14 August 2016. The training stay will from 27 September to 19 October 2016. The activities will be based in Damanhour, with interventions in 6 other Nile Delta cities and villages: Ismaeliya Abu Mangug, Benha, Tanta, Mansoura and Doumiat.Our project will result in the acquisition of new teaching tools of social circus for youth participants and their professional networks of workers, the development of social circus activities in the Nile Delta and in the local communities of the participants, the provision multimedia documents tracing the project, allowing the development of teaching skills, social, artistic and linguistic other trainers and the multiplication of the project results through the dissemination of these documents and the organization of social circus activities to new audiences .
