PROJECT
FINISHED
The project CEBBIS is looking for trans-regional branch based, demand-led methods and solutions to improve technology transfer to SMEs. The partbnership joints its forces in order to provides tools, methods and proceedings for professionalising intermediary innovation and technology transfer supporting staff, related to ICT-driven innovation for knowledge-intensive core industries. Offering industry specific innovation support, by focusing on new ICT applications, CEBBIS aims to raise SMEs competitiveness on the international market. Participating regions share common problems of intermediaries who lack contact and cooperation with similar organizations from other countries. An applicable transnational model for the efficient diffusion and application of knowledge in new products, processes and services is to be drafted. CEBBIS partners from IT, DE, HU, CZ, AT, SI represent regional and national decision-makers, and intermediaries like technology parks; competence centres and business organisations. Each partner stands for a particular type of organisation involved in the process of technology transfer. The project will allow for regional and transnational networking of technology transfer intermediaries and cluster organisations. Achievements: The CENTRAL EUROPE project "CEBBIS" main goal is to overcome the factors that disable effective knowledge transfer from universities and research institutions to small and medium enterprises in the Central Europe regions making available best practices and pro-innovative services developed or used by its eleven partners from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Poland and Slovenia. The final outcome is the establishment of a network of Competence Centres offering to SMEs pro-innovative services based on Information Communication Technologies applications. The choice of the tools and the pro-innovative services has required a preliminary phase to identify the bottlenecks in the diffusion of innovation and new technologies; after that step the best practices and models to create an effective transnational network to enhance the competitiveness of the central European SMEs have been selected. The analysis performed and the seminars held have made possible to elaborate a roadmap, described in the document “Development of CEBBIS Network of Competence”, in order to establish and organize the centres in the most functional way. The identification of almost 20 pro-innovative services, divided in five key areas - technology services, networking, customer relationship, idea screening and multiproject management - has permitted to carry on a series of pilot actions in collaboration with SMEs. The pilot actions have proceeded alongside the implementation of five centres managed by the partners ARP and GAPP (Poland), CTRIA (Hungary), CTU-Inovacentrum (Czech Republic) and UIP (Slovenia), with this last center designed as an "Innovative Experience Centre" based on the web (see apps.mikrobiz.net/ie/en/). At the same time has started a dissemination campaign and a specific series of workshops and seminars to make aware non intermediary actors and stakeholders of the new established network and to train intermediary staff in using and suggesting the new services to local SMEs according their innovation and technology transfer needs. The network created by the CEBBIS project partners is therefore envisaged as a platform for spreading innovation and technology transfer best practices in a key area, an initiative to be developed further after the project's end increasing the number of organizations involved for the benefit of the whole territory.
