Central Asia Student International Academic exchange with EU - CASIA

The Consortium brings a wide range of disciplines together, but focuses in specific on agriculture, life
sciences, trans-boundary natural resource management and climate change. The wider objective is very
relevant in the context of partner Universities modernisation and adaptation of their education capabilities
towards reformed countries economy in the region. The chosen main disciplines are addressing the regional, common needs of 4 CA -countries involved.
In total 101 mobility flows are planned from CA institutions to EU, including 26 flows for BSc students
and 25 for MSc students. The mobility flows allocated for 17 PhD students , 9 CA post-doctorates and the
24 academic staff will result in: updated teaching material and courses; contribute to the reform of the
educational programs at CA universities; the development and introduction of BSc and MSc programs
according to Bologna recommendations; the development and implementation of quality assurance systems and teaching assignments at CA universities.
Based on pre selection results and request from CA partners, mobility flows allocated for talented CA MSc
students give opportunity to complete double degree programmes and obtain two diplomas- one from EU
and one from CA university. Additionally the attempt will be done towards the creation of the European
Graduate School at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration.
