CAREER-EUshop: One-Stop-Service-Career-Guidance-Shop for Europe
In the European Union today many public and private centres and local authorities areproviding career services as a lifelong process in different ways in their attempt to dealwith unemployment. There is no method of collecting and sharing good practices,experiences and innovation at a European Level. Because of this lack of informationand communication, there is limited opportunity to share the knowledge, coordinate theprocesses and results of the services nor to disseminate and take advantage of goodpractices and be able to train the counsellors.The objective of this project is to provide EU counsellors with a common framework ofthe best career counselling services, methods and practices in public and privateinstitutions and develop a training programme for them.The people who need career guidance, or are interested in such guidance, include:• all adults seeking a job or a change of job (including those with special needs)• pupils of age 15-18• university students• counsellors,• senior citizens• decision-makers etc.Activities:• European-level survey of good practices, research and related project results oncareer guidance, presented as an electronic guide• Study and analysis of the data collected in order to develop appropriate material for acourse on career guidance including counselling for special needs people, marginalisedand disadvantaged citizens, migrants and senior citizens• Develop a guide with the course material as well as other useful disseminationmaterials• Development of a website for information and communication• Organize an Annual European Conference on Career Guidance in Europe• Promote the organisation of a European Network/Association of Career GuidanceCounsellors• Develop a model and guide for a “Career-EUshop: One-stop Service Career GuidanceShop” including its operation link with Adult Learning Institutions.Summary of Outputs:• Survey report• Guidelines for the Career-EUShop• Project web-site• Electronic Guide of best practices of Career Counselling• Training course curriculum and programme• Leaflet and Articles• European Conference on Career Guidance• The Statute of the EACGC (European Association of Career Guidance Counselling)
