Organisation: Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture Fernand Léger – 45 allées Aristide Briand – 91100 Corbeil-Essonnes – France Period: 12 months – February 2015 to February 2016 Number of volunteers: 1 Activities pursued: 1) Animation of the European mobility information point of the MJC (permanences on the spot, creation of tools, presentations outside the MJC, activities with students) Meeting the local actors of associational life on the territory (Maison de quartiers, Mission locale), presentations in primary and high schools The SVE will be a general source for all the information about Europe. The experience the EVS is living is the best way to motivate the youth of Corbeil and the agglomeration Seine-Essonne to take part in a European mobility programme. 2) Awareness of Europen citizenship: debates about Europe and intercultural issues, projections, conferences The person in EVS will share her or his experience and vision of being a citizen from her or his point of view, the point of view of her/his country. The person in EVS would coordinate debates about these topics. 3) Taking part in different cultural events and activities of the MJC, including international ones depending on the preferences of the person in EVS and the actualities of the MJC Intercultural exchanges: contemporary music projects, Sarabande (street art, carnaval) 4) Participating in the project ’Educational support’ : helping 30 children from 6 to 11 years with their homework together with a team of students and volunteers; helping them to flourish and become confident by cultural projects, like theatre and animation 5) Working on the intercultural dimension of all activities of the MJC: organisation of theme nights, debates, exhibitions, etc according to the volunteer’s ambitions. He or she could present his or her culture, home country by different cultural and social activities. his country.
