Business Beyond Barriers

The project involves both general and special needs vocational schools in business education. The students and educators of the vocational schools and staff of the collaborating companies from the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany and Finland will cooperate through networking and meetings on the subject of developing cross-cultural Business and Business English skills. The project consists of the following themes: 1. Start-up, 2. Networking, 3. Partnership between Schools and Companies and 4. Business Beyond Barriers. In the Start-Up meeting in Finland in October 2012 the teachers exchange the content of the curricula and start developing a sub-curriculum on the topics. The Young Enterprise projects will also be presented to the participants. A presentation of each school system and about special education teaching will also be given. The teachers will create a network plan for the meeting in March 2013 and they will create a plan for the virtual company which will be presented in the final meeting in Germany in March 2014.In the Networking -part the students practice international networking and business English skills. The students present the work possibilities in their own countries, their partnerships between companies and schools, and how to practice business skills in their own country. The students will visit companies and also follow a regular school day in business education. In the third meeting the participants will learn of a best practice of how an employer and an educator prepare a curriculum together. The students will give presentations of the co-operation possibilities between companies and their school. In Business Beyond Barriers -meeting the participants will see some good examples of companies hiring people with and without special needs.
