Agros Youth Club hosted in Cyprus a trilateral youth exchange titled "Building Europe Together". Our partner groups camefrom Spain and Italy. The theme of the project developed following consultation with the partners and participants. It was recognised that the theme was of significant interest to the participants. The objectives of the project were to provide a forum to share ideas across cultural lines and increase awareness of differing social and cultural realities. The project explored the different cultures of the participant countries and developed a sense of tolerance. The participants were given defined and crucial roles in the project demanding that they took responsibility and demonstrated initiative. Through this process they achieved personal and social development.
The main aim of this project was to contribute to the process of building tolerant integrated society based on respect to the gender equality and cultural diversity with active intercultural cooperation and dialogue, through raising the awareness of a group of youth leaders about the theme of gender identity and cultural diversity and through supporting their development as youth workers and peer educators in this field in their communities. In this way, the training course was focused both on supporting the target group of the project and on making further impact on the local communities involved.
