PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is a multilateral youth exchange funded by the European Commission through the "Erasmus +" program. It will take place at all times in several municipalities of Gran Canaria (Spain).
The project duration is 7 days and the countries involved are Spain, France, Sweden, Slovakia UK and Greece. The total number of participants is 42 including a leading country. Planned activities revolve around the world of Hip Hop in all its facets (Dance, rap, graffitty and DJ) as a vehicle for the active participation of the young people in rural and urban degraded areas where young people have difficulty in accessing opportunities. The methods used will be participatory, active and very dynamic, detailed in the annex of activities.
This project puts us in a new scenario, to which we do not put us if not by participation in projects like this. By the mere tourist would not get a glimpse of the lives of others as we will have during the days activities. Other ways of living day to day, the prospect that each gives the common problems that we have and young Europeans puts us in a space of greater awareness of other cultures, especially when you live in a poorly served rural area, for example. These cross-cutting aspects characterize this project and contextualized.
Our project promotes dialogue between young people from different backgrounds and cultures, as it is a multilateral project, ie several bands, with the wealth of nuances that entails. Thus, we promote intercultural encounters that will both informal and non-formal spaces, the foundation of the methodology aplciada.
This project also helps prevent and combat prejudice, which include leading to exclusion, in its broadest sense. We look forward to the participation of everyone regardless of their origin, economic status, social status, disability, geographical difficulties. We will pay special attention to the inclusion of women and men equal at all times. There will also watch balance nationalities, when we do group activities.
We emphasize that this project encourages a sense of mutual respect and understanding of diversity in the European mosaic in which we live. This project will be like a little sociological, intense and extremely instructive experiment.
This project will have a clear effect on strengthening the sense of European citizenship among the young people who will participate in it. But so will the people who will indirectly contact us during activities even after the conduct. Thus, other youth groups, media and even technicians, experts and politicians will be more present than ever the importance and value we have youth as engines of social change, with a clear European approach.
This project will also have a more intimate and personal effects. It will allow us to understand our role as part of the present and future of Europe, as key players in the process of change and improvement of the living space in which we live. Addendum shape, this project reflects a common concern for us and for all European society, such as racism and xenophobia (in this project will involve young children of immigrants in the Canary Islands, black people who come from France descendants of people from former French colonies), drug abuse (as we insist on the healthy practice of Hip Hop, especially dancing) and rejection on grounds of disability (he will present in this project) or the fact of living in urban or remote villages where the oportuniddes of all kinds are concentrated slums.
