The project aims at 1) setting up International Center of Sociologic Analysis of Transborder Cooperation (ICSA) as a special mechanism of joint monitoring of transborder processes which secures reliable feedback between transborder cooperation management bodies and its direct participants – population of neighboring regions of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. 2) building capacity of transborder cooperation actors in the sphere of sociologic analysis and efficient use of its results, in particular: developing a special methodology and tools for the sociologic research of transborder cooperation, developing training package “Sociology of transborder relations” for its introduce in higher educational institutions of border regions of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. 3) conducting initial international sociologic survey of transborder cooperation of neighboring regions of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine and submit it to decision makers Achievements: 1. International research and consulting organization is established providing: prompt and long term public opinion research of population of border regions on issues of border functioning and transborder cooperation development, and based on that; justified political recommendations are submitted to management bodies, aimed at increased efficiency of transborder cooperation development, maximum consideration of needs and interests of people living in the neighbouring regions, and thereby consistent implementation of principle “borders for people”. 2. Special methodology and tools for the sociologic analysis is developed; developed training package “Sociology of transborder relations” is introduced in the higher educational institutions of the border regions which will contribute to obtainment of maximally full and objective first hand information about the actual status of transborder cooperation and its scientific forecasting. 3. Initial monitoring research of transborder cooperation of neighbouring regions of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine is conducted, findings are submitted to the decision makers.
