The project Black Butterfly will increase intercultural dialogue and co-operation between Europe and Latin America through the European Union Youth in Action programme. Black Butterfly (Broadening Latin America's Co-operation and Knowledge - Building Unity Through Training, Empowerment, Resources, Formation and Learning for YOUTH) will bring together partners from Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay, Brazil, Costa Rica, France, Malta, Portugal, Spain and the UK to share knowledge about volunteering, develop intercultural activities for youth from minority groups, those experiencing poverty and social exclusion and create a network for future exchanges of volunteers through European Voluntary Service, youth exchange or other programmes.The objectives of this project are:-Develop a platform for intercultural and interethnic dialogue between organisations working in the youth sector in the field of inclusion-To offer a mobility opportunity for 15 professionals to attend a seminar in the UK-To increase opportunities for mobility by supporting the creation of 5 new EVS hosting projects in Latin America'-To develop a cross continent sustainable partnership over the course of 12 months in order to build a platform for future co-operation within the wider Youth in Action programme» To develop &. deliver a photography workshop to 150 young people across the partnership-To deliver photography exhibitions in each partner country on intercultural dialogue in each promoter country and use these as a mechanism for engaging youth with fewer opportunities-To develop photography materials about intercultural dialogue, particularly between Europe and Latin America to raise awareness of this subject as well as producing promotional materials which can be used for visibility of the Youth in Action programme and can also be used in a parallel programme of EVS to better prepare young people with fewer opportunities for their mobility experience-To offer a mobility opportunity for 30 young people with fewer opportunities to attend a workshop in Mexico to understand more about Youth in Action and the opportunities available and also to develop transferrable skills
