The Sinnberg-Schule (hosting project), which takes part in EVS, is a ground school, which are 330 being schooled. The transcultural learning forms the basis for a tolerant and respectful coexistence, where important is the respect and acceptance. This principle is happening in the daily interaction, through the employees and children, about 35% of the children come from different countries and cultures. This is why they would like to host another European volunteer to promote further the transcultural understanding. The school decided to host this year a volunteer from Russia – Anastasia Okolnikova (her sending Organisation is SFERA). She should spend in Bad Kissingen 12 months. The project should start in September 2015 (after the summer holidays). The preparation (language, task-oriented, personally) has already started and is supported by all the partners.
The tasks of the volunteer are among other: whole day class and afternoon care, helping in the school canteen during the breaks, own workshops and activities, helping during the excursions and sport activities etc. After the orientation and introduction phase the volunteer will have the possibility and time to think about her own projects and to put them into action. The volunteer will take part in the every day of the school. She is the part of the team and she can will be involved in the whole day care of the children and depending on her will and skills, she can propose her own project. She will receive a regular guidance and reflexion which belongs to the EVS program.
Anastasia will get her own room in Bad Kissingen and share a flat with another volunteer (from Jugend- und Kulturzentrum). The Sinnbergsschule is possible to reach from the apartment on foot. The project will be supported by the coordinating organisation – Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken. Anastasia will be a part of a network of volunteers. The jubi coordinates several projects in Unterfranken and each month organises a meeting for all of the volunteers. The coordinator takes care of the monitoring of the EVS project in the Sinnbergsschule, comes to Bad Kissingen for the midterm and final evaluation meeting. She will support Anastasia in her learning process and they will prepare together her Youthpass.
