Berufsbezogene Praktika im europäischen Ausland
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Mildred-Scheel –Berufskolleg would like to enable eight students of the Höhere Berufsfachschule für Gesundheit und Soziales (fulltime vocational school with a focus on health and social matters) to do an internship in the social sector in Ireland with the objective to promote not only their professional competence but also European competences (language and intercultural competence; ability and motivation to live and work in Europe) . Furthermore we aim at advancing social and personal competence. All these points lead to increased employability and occupational mobility. The chosen participants have not gathered international experience yet. Some of them derive from a socially deprived background. Hence we would like to offer them and our high-performing students the opportunity to do an internship abroad and by this to acquire additional professional qualification. Due to the participants' foreign language skills the internships are realised in an anglophone country. The planned project activity consists in the preparation, realisation and evaluation of internships in social organisations and institutions in Ireland. The partner organisation places the participants in the internships, guides them and assigns mentors in the internship organisations. The coordinating organisation selects the participants, conducts the preparation and follow-up and also mentors the students in their internships. All partners involved benefit from the project on an intercultural, social, personal and professional level.
