Offering a six-day programme in various formats, Berlinale Talents is aiming to discover and promote emerging and highly-talented film professionals from all over the world and connect them with film and media industry professionals attending the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) and the European Film Market (EFM). The general objectives of Berlinale Talents are to strengthen skills, competencies and communication abilities of emerging professionals who already have a promising track record and express their clear interest in the European and international cinema and creative industry landscape. The action wants to enable equal exchange and cultural dialogue in between people coming from different backgrounds and generations and acts as a connecting link and business matchmaker across borders and barriers. Within its curated framework, the Berlinale Talents aims to highlight the latest developments of the cinema discourse as well as to celebrate successful best-practise processes from the film industry. While bringing together experienced professionals with extraordinary achievements and up- and coming innovators with sometimes yet undiscovered business or working models, Berlinale Talents can also serve as an idea incubator and a hub for the discussion and dissemination of trends for the presence and the future of cinema and media.
