The 'Be Your Own Boss' Partnership Project has identified good practice in the delivery of training for people from disadvantaged groups (people with disabilities, young people, women, people from ethnic minorities and people from rural areas) who want to go self-employed or start their own business. This was done through sharing delivery methodology of 'Be Your Own Boss' training materials, (previously developed under an LDV training project 2000 - 2006), observations of actual training sessions and establishing cross-country focus groups of trainers. Five meetings took place over 2 days each in the UK, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Lithuania, where trainers were able to discuss good practice techniques and observe either real-time training or video evidence with sub-titles. A questionnaire was developed at the second meeting to provide a wider consultation of trainers and a total of 77 responded. Information on good practice was collated into a good practice guide and reference website for use by trainers across Europe. Ongoing evaluation of the project took place and a final evaluation report has been produced outlining the benefits of Partnership working, challenges and solutions.
