One of the biggest factors influencing health is regular physical activity. The promotion of an active lifestyle helps to prevent health problems and is one of the most important prerequisites for a positive development in childhood and adolescence. This shows how important it is to motivate youth for doing some physical activities and show them a healthy lifestyle.
For the Club Aktiv Gesund it is a big concern to strengthen cooperations in the field of youth work. New contacts to partner organization will be made and for young people it is an opportunity for a European exchange.
The aim of this youthexchange is to link young people from the Alps-Adriatic region with each other and strengthen the health awareness of young participants.
Through various sporting activities such as stand up paddling, climbing the high ropes course, different kinds of sportgames and workshops and groupworks on the topics of "What does health mean to me", "What are the body good nutrition and how do I prepare a healthy meal "," How can I strengthen my back " and relaxation techniques, a healthy lifestyle is brought closer to young people from the Alps-Adriatic region. In order to promote a European cooperation and to reduce linguistic differences, language basics are also part of the daily program.
Through all this activities reservations between cultures are broken down and new friendships are built. An open and appreciative interaction with each other is possible and can positively influence the youth group long after the youth exchange. The 30 participants, including the groupleaders, from Croatia, Slovenia and Austria do not have a regular sporty and healthy lifestyle and most of them grew up in a socially disadvantaged family.
The age of the young people is between 13 to 14 years. At this age there are the greatest changes in range of motion according to the WHO.
With the youth exchange in Ferlach they make new experiences relating to a common Europe and a sporty and healthy lifestyle.
