The youth exchange “Be Active, Be Effective” will be implemented in Manjiron, Spain from 15th to 22nd of September, 2016 in cooperation with a partner organisation InoChange from Georgia, INSTITUTO POLITISMU LAOGRAFIAS ATHLITISMU & NEON TEHNOLOGION from Greece, and KOSARKASKI SAVEZ GRADA NISA from Serbia. The discussions between partner organizations revealed lack of healthy lifestyle and social exclusion as common problems that impact young people in our local communities. Physical inactivity, increasing tobacco use, excessive consumption of alcohol and poor diet and nutrition, are increasingly becoming part of today’s lifestyle leading to the rapid rise of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or obesity. We decided to focus on these topics by raising awareness and improving the capacity of female and male youngsters from Spain, Georgia, Greece and Serbia to develop new attitudes in favor of healthy lifestyle thereby addressing the issue. The Youth Exchange “Be Active, Be Effective” will gather 29 participants for 7 days in order to share, and extend their current knowledge and skills and to acquire new ones with regards to healthy lifestyle and social inclusion. In order to achieve above mentioned aim, we developed following objectives: - To explore the concept of healthy lifestyle and discuss current issues related to the nutrition and sports through sharing good practices and experiences related to prevention of diseases caused by lack of exercise and poor eating habits; - To provide participants with theoretical and practical opportunities to improve their physical and health competences;- To foster youngsters to become peer educators and to create a network to work as multipliers for healthy lifestyle and promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for health education and,- To promote youth interactions, networks and partnerships. We will achieve desired impact on local, national, European and international level through dissemination of the project results by bringing them to the attention of a broader audience. This audience includes youngsters living around us, family members, friends, our local communities, our friends and partner organizations from Europe and all over the world. They will be informed about importance of sports and other physical activities in our daily life; how to live, eat and act healthy in our busy, stressful life in a timely manner; why healthy and active lifestyle is essential for social inclusion; What opportunities are given by Erasmus+ programme to support all above mentioned and etc. For more sustainable and wider result we will follow up the development and implementation of future projects planned during the Youth Exchange. The activities of the Youth Exchange are non-formal or informal, all of them are dynamic, active and designed in a way that will develop participants’ competencies about sports, physical activity, healthy eating, living and acting, in accordance to social inclusion practices. A part from this, participants will explore different sports and physical activities during the project so that they can find their favorite one to continue practicing and promoting it back to their daily life.
