The B.E.A.TR.I.C project aims to establish a common European framework for the recognition of education, training and work experience, specifically aimed at those wishing to work or study in another European country. The project, focussing upon the tourism sector, will also address those moving from one sector to another within the labour market. End project results will comprise a comparative study with regard to the certification of non-academic higher education systems within the participating countries and the European Union as a whole. Beyond this, the project will develop and introduce an operational handbook to act as a common linguistic and semantic reference, along with a ‘compilation protocol’ containing both methodology and instructions for those wishing to undergo certification. The results will be tested by stakeholders in the field. Primary beneficiaries are students and existing employees considering European mobility for education or employment reasons, education and training bodies and individual companies. Dissemination will comprise the establishment of a dedicated project website, the hosting of workshops and conferences, the distribution of information materials to relevant stakeholders, the release of articles to specialist press and a range of local networking activities.
