The project aims at providing the job training and work placement in Germany for 12 students and 2 teachers of speciality of cook and 6 students and 1 teachers of speciality of hairdresser.
The main aim of the project is to validate the professional skills and experience gained at vocational school and to introduce the standards of the EU. By that the level of the competitiveness of the students of Ida-Viru Vocational Education Cenytre will raise. The project will give the students opportunity to compare the curricula of different countries and become familiarized with the organization of Qualification exams in European countries.
The project is necessary for improving the knowledge, skills and practical experience of the students as this is the cornerstone of the competitiveness in the labour market. Also, it is needed for gaining the experiene for continuing the studies and for lifelong learning as well as gaining new experience while working in EU countries.
Participants in the project:
12 students of cook speciality, year 2-4. The aim of the project for cooks: during their job training students gain an insight into the organisation, understands the planning and organization of the work in a catering company, raise the motivation for working in the chosen field, applies gained knowledge and skills in work situations, prepares and serves meals, gains in-depth knowledge and skills about healthy food based on distinct needs of clients, gains knowledge of various equipment and tools used in catering business, gains in-depth knowledge necessary for working in the field, applies skills gained during job practice in making vocational studies more efficient. The duration of job training is 4 weeks.
12 students of cook speciality who participate in project started their studies after finishing compulsory level of education. The length of the vocational studies is 140 study weeks and professional studeis make 100 study weeks out of the whole amount.
2 teachers of cook speciality and 1 teacher of hairdresser speciality. The aim of work placement: professional development and updating the knowledge of recent developments in the field to make professional studies more up-to-date. The project is necessary for improving the knowledge, skills and practical experience to raise the competitiveness in the labour market. The duration of work placement is 2 weeks.
6 students of hairdresser speciality. The aim of the job training: participation in the project is necessary for students to gain knowledge, skills and practical experience to raise the competitiveness in the labour market, also to become aware of the necessity for continuing the studies and for lifelong learning and gaining new experience while working in EU countries. During the job training students applies and develops professional knowledge, skills and attitudes gained during independent work. Participation in job training develops social and personal skills as well as team working skills.
6 students of hairdresser speciality who participate in the project started their studeis after finishing seconary level of education. The length of the vocational studies is 60 study weeks.
Work placement as agreed between Germany and a project partner are taking place as following:
1. Students of cook speciality – 2 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December, 2014
2. Teacher of cook speciality – 2 weeks in November, 2014
3. Students of cook speciality – 1 month in May, 2015
4. Teacher of cook speciality – 2 weeks in May, 2015
5. Students of hairdresser speciality – 1 month in May, 2015
6. Teacher of hairdresser speciality – 2 weeks in May, 2015
Expected outcome:
1. Improved professional skills
2. Ability to work in an environment which uses foreign language
3. Ability to manage independently in a new work environment
Project is managed by the planned programme with pre-determined activities, time schedule and executives. Activities are divided into stages: preparatory stage, activities stage, conclusion stage. For project implementation the team will be compiled from specialists of specialities and school.
The outcome of the project for school: popularising specialities, applying the traineeship module of the curricula abroad, comparison of methods and supplies used in curricula, assessment of job trainings, applying best practices into the professional studies.
The distribution of the project results in our school, among the local community and our international partners has an important impact. All materials and every activity will be supplied with Erasmus+ programme logos.
The project conference will be held after the end of the placement to introduce the project results to other students in our school, to the local community organizations.
