PROJECT
FINISHED
Project A1:
The project "Internship abroad in Szeged for industrial trainees" is composed of intensive linguistic, cultural and pedagogical preparation in Germany and a three-week internship in Szeged (Hungary). Twelve participants currently undertaking a dual industrial traineeship will take part in the program. Participants are completing their traineeships in Germany in small and medium-sized enterprises and have little opportunity to experience different working structures and organisational procedures outside of their own company. The internship abroad should compensate for this deficit. Alongside the enhancement of professional skills and increasing awareness of international working structures and modes of operation, the project also focuses on the acquisition of social, personal, intercultural and linguistic competences. As a result of globalization, such skills have become essential for future employees to be able to compete on the European market.
From a professional point of view it is intended that participants complete a wider variety of administrative tasks in the Hungarian company than they would in their traineeship company in Germany. As well as completing the internship, participants should gain insights into Hungarian culture and the language. In the course of the preparation in Germany participants will therefore take part in a language course spread across a three month period. The project will be supervised both by the sending organization and the receiving organization in Szeged. A contact person from both the sending and receiving organizations will be available to participants during their time abroad. Participants are visited by the contact person from the sending organization during the first week in the internship to make sure they are being effectively integrated into the unknown corporate structure.
On a regional level, an understanding and a willingness to support such learning experiences abroad for trainees should be encouraged and promoted. In addition, the project aims to further strengthen the relationship to the Hungarian partner organization, paving the way for future projects and cooperation. In the long term, an internship abroad for industrial trainees in Hungary should, on a regional level, become an integral part of the traineeship program.
Project A2:
The project "Internship abroad in Brest for industrial trainees" consists of a two-week internship in Brest (France) and a period of linguistic, cultural and pedagogical preparation in Germany. Fifteen participants will take part in the program in France. Participants are currently completing dual traineeships in Germany in small and medium-sized enterprises and have little opportunity to experience different working structures and organizational procedures outside of their own companies. From a professional point of view, participants should be given the opportunity to complete their internship in a so-called Hypermarché. A Hypermarché is a special type of company in the retail sector. Due to their size they have particular requirements regarding the flow of goods and the processing of information. In this way, trainees are able to gain new insights into unknown structures inside the retail sector and acquire specific expertise. Other participants will have the chance to complete their internship in a normal retail company (boutique). Here the focus is primarily on customer contact and practical use of the language. Thus participants learn how to lead sales conversations and to understand their importance in retail. IFAC is also able to offer internship opportunities in car sales companies selling French brands (Renault, Citroen, Peugeot). Alongside the enhancement of professional skills, the project also focuses on the acquisition of social, personal, intercultural and linguistic competences. Cultural activities outside of the internship are also offered to participants. The project will be organized and coordinated in cooperation with the receiving organization IFAC. During their time abroad, participants will be given personal guidance by both the sending and receiving organizations. On a regional level, an understanding and a willingness to support such learning experiences abroad for trainees should be encouraged and promoted.
