From 01/07/2014 until 05/06/2016 19 participants from the Vocational College for hotel management Pegnitz and 1 participant from the College for hotel managegement Pegnitz took part in the activity A1. Four participants have done two mobilities each. They went to Austria (10), Spain (6), United Kingdom (4), France (2) and Italy (2), where they spent 21 days up to 205 days, 15,4 weeks on average. During the three years term of the Vocational College for hotel management (graduation as “Staatlich geprüfter Fachmann für Euro-Hotelmanagement / Staattlich geprüfte Fachfrau für Euro-Hotelmanagement” ) the participants completed three internships in establishments of the upper and highest categories and levels. Participants of the Vocational College are recommended to do a practical period in a foreign European country. The mobility project aimed to qualify the participants for the vocational start in international hotels being qualified for the business management, the practical and foreign language qualification. Staying abroad are widely acknowledged application criteria for being employed and are as well important career elements for the professional advancement. The participants were mainly departed in the restaurant service, the hotel reception, marketing and personal administration. They could easily reach the intended qualificational goals. There was no dropout or critical situation during the mobility period. Three of the participants have extended the stay deliberately. If they stayed for a longer period of time they were commited responsible activities. The participants of the Vocational College selected the destinations and the hotels individually. Concerning the selection and the preparation of the agreement relating to the stay abroad the participants were expected to show a high individual initiative and self-reliance as well. These students could take part in the mobility project who had successfully made a six months long probation in the 1st year. Internal college selection criteria were the exam in the AEVO (state qualified person to train apprentices) and a foreign language certificate on an advanced high European level. There was a need for the travel, accommodation and the residence costs, as well for a private liability insurance, a personal accident insurance and a health insurance for the stay abroad. There did not exist any further special requirements. In co-operation with our LoI-partner Hotels Escuela de Canarias S.A. (HECANSA) we were able to provide our participants an intensiv language course and a free connection of suitable training hotels, additionally support to find accommodation and a local support in the training companies. The participants of the Vocational College received the “Europass-Mobilitätspass” and a qualified certificate concerning the training abroad. They wrote a weekly internship report expecting a target-oriented monitoring. The monitoring and the evaluation of the internships abroad were made by the Vocational College and the HECANSA. The realization period was from 01/02/2016 until 19/02/2016. According to our organisational developement we have planed to apply for a one week internship (9 days) with HECANSA for two teachers of the Vocational College Pegnitz within the activity A2. Our Spanish teacher did a suggested internship at the reception, the marketing and the personal administration at a hotel at Lanzarote. As I am responsible for the project, I did an internship at a hotel in Austria at the reception, the marketing, the accounting department and the kitchen. Both internships have enriched our education at the Vocational College and lead to a long-term cooperation with these hotels.
