Art and creativity to promote human and social rights
Start date: Apr 1, 2015, End date: Oct 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This proposal of Training Course has its origin in 2 meetings of European young people that took place in Verviers (Belgium) in June 2014 and in Banja Luka (Bosnia Herzegovina) in August 2014. Both of them were focused on the topic of Human Rights and the young participants expressed the need to go deep in the knowledge of efficient methods and tools for inclusion through the spreading of Human and Social Rights values and the use of creative and artistic expression. The use of artistic expression may well represent an added value, an efficient tool and a qualitative growth in the action that our NGOs are organizing to promote social and human rights, to enlarge the real possibility for young people to claim for rights and to contribute to the development (social, cultural, economic, environmental) of the community in which they live. Dates of the project will be 1st April – 1st October 2015 and those of the Training will be 22nd – 30th June 2015. The methodology used in all the phases of the project will be Non Formal Education (learning by doing, peer education, interaction and sharing). The methodology will guarantee high level of involvement of all the stakeholders of the project. Objectives of this Training Course have been shared and elaborated by all the partners and they are: - to train youth workers, youth leaders, responsible of youth organisations, volunteers through an open and flexible training path able to answer the different learning needs of participants on the topic of Human and Social Rights through the use of artistic and creative tools and to enhance their knowledge and competences in the daily work they do to promote processes of social inclusion, active citizenship and personal development among those young people coming from disadvantaged and marginalised contexts; - to improve in terms of quality the work that all partners realise in their local environment with disadvantaged and marginalised young people to promote their social development and inclusion; - to share good practices, strategies and activities realised in the different involved countries on the topic of fighting against marginalisation and exclusion of young people coming from disadvantaged conditions; - to plan follow up measures to be realised both at local level, applying the competences acquired during the project (multiplying effect) and at international level through the Erasmus+ Programme in order to generate further possibilities of inclusion and involvement of young people. Participants will be 32, among which there will be 3 facilitators and 2 support staff, coming from Italy, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Croatia. Profile of participants will be youth and social workers, youth leaders, educators, youth animators, responsible of organizations, volunteers. During preparatory phase participants will collect information and documentation at local level on good practices, strategies and activities realised in the different countries and contexts involved in the project on the thematic of fighting against marginalisation and exclusion of young people coming from disadvantaged conditions. They will also do a preparation on intercultural aspects and on the eventual existing reports (official or not) on the violation of human rights in their own country. During the Training Course will be organised ice-breaker games, team building, presentation of the Erasmus+ Programme and Youthpass, sharing sessions on associative backgrounds and preparatory works, 2 “Show and tell” session, 2 working sessions on the topics of the project, a field visit, a “training path” on acquiring competences and knowledge on how to promote inclusive processes through Human and Social Rights thematic and the tools of art and creativity, a working session on how to reproduce and apply the acquired competences and knowledge, working session on the elaboration of future common steps, reflection groups and final evaluations. Main impact will be on the involved youth workers who will have the possibility to acquire, share and develop new methodologies, activities and competences: they will explore the thematic and practices of the promotion of Human Rights and the different ways of the creative and artistic expression in order to use them a tool to promote and encourage active participation of young people in the social and cultural life of their community. Future steps planned will guarantee to the project a continuity in the long term perspective and in the different European context reinforcing the partnership and providing a quality improvement in the action through the direct involvement of those young people with which we will work in already planned activities.
