PROJECT
FINISHED
The two main scopes that inspire this project are firstly the inclusive pedagogical models and secondly Emotional Education and Positive Psychology.
This project is designed to include, to involve and to enthuse the entire educational community of our strategic partnership and part of a series of statements:
- school failure is directly linked to negative experiences of students in the school environment
- the main needs of adolescents are the ones of socioemotional nature, and they aim to satisfy them in the group of equals;
- cognitive processes (learning, attention, memory, decision making and social behaviour) are profoundly influenced and interconnected with emotional processes;
- emotions do not get much attention at school, even though the key to all learning is of emotional nature;
- the emotional and social approach is principal for learning and for teaching: learning is inevitably based on emotions;
- neuroscience confirms that positive emotions are the real powers to motivation and learning;
- formal education should be enriched and inspired - to increase efficiency – by strategies of informal education.
Therefore we propose:
- to increase the emotional education at school and thereby motivate students in learning and avoid truancy in each partnership schools;
- to work properly with emotions, turning them into allies to encourage students in the apprehension of learning and acquiring quality learning. Thus, students who feel apathy towards studying can be stimulated and motivated again under a welcoming environment, as suggested by Turner and Céspedes (2004) and Millan (2008) in Pedagogy of Tenderness;
- to teach positive emotions at schools. There are emotions that are part of our DNA (sadness, joy, anger, fear ..) and others that can and should be taught: patience, solidarity, humility, optimism, empathy, compassion ... ;
- to motivate towards learning and teaching through the experience of positive emotions of students and teachers;
- to transform the school from personal self - realization: developing the strengths of each of us, self-esteem, empathy, teach assertiveness as bullying prevention ...;
- to create a strong link between self-expression and joy of learning in group: transform school and classroom into a "place of happiness" individually and collectively, as own point of reference;
- to increase multisensory learning;
- to develop intrapersonal intelligence;
- to encourage teachers and students to creative growth;
- to use professional experience provided from each partner institution;
- to promote the internationalization of our schools by short term and long term mobility and use of languages granted by the partnership.
As a result of LEARNING WITH EMOTION (S) we achieve:
At our schools
* new positive, motivating and stimulating synergies in each educational community and among them;
* increased motivation and enthusiasm of students and teachers towards teaching / learning;
* internationalization through short term and long term mobility and use of languages granted by the partnership;
* authentic linguistic experience based on real contexts and assertive communication in which our students should develop strategies that contribute to the development of their intra- and interpersonal intelligences alongside with more attractive and effective language learning.
In the network, through the project website, available to all teachers who are interested:
* quality didactic material with all the innovative activities in different areas created during the two year duration of the project;
* board games about "emotional intelligence" and "learning with joy";
* clip - project song on the topic of emotions;
* videos and short films;
* videos of performances and theatrical improvisation.
With this project we accomplish an international impact through the dissemination of results from our schools and a major added value for the educational quality of our school systems.
In the five participating schools we can rely on experienced professionals that make a great contribution to educational standard. The final result will be reflective in the training of teachers and students of the partnership schools.
