BACKGROUND:Jan 2014: Entry of Erasmus+
Jan 2014: Meeting of the Teachers’ Board,to investigate our participation in the programme.Formation of a teachers' work group responsible for the implementation of the programme, with the headmistress of the school at the head.
Appointment of a person, responsible for the communication with the National Unit, Organizations, Schools.
Appointment of a person, responsible for the financial issues of the plan.
Feb 2014: Meeting of the Teachers’ Board , for the selection of the seminars, and the participating teachers.
Mar 2014: Preparation and submission of the application to the National Unit.
OBJECTIVES-DELIVERABLES:
-Adoption of new teaching strategies through the use of ICT,as well as the use of the Internet.
-Introduction of the Project method in all topics.
-Improvement of the administration methods through the use of technology.
-Reduction of the phenomenon of early school leaving through the provision of alternative ways of access to educational resources.
-Conversion of the existing educational material according to recognized standards, towards an easily accessible and shared form.
-Implementation of e-learning and learning support platforms
-Participation of educators in online communities of educational material. Creation of our own depository of lessons and educational activities.
-Internationalization of school and its opening to the European ideas. Finding of partners for school partnerships.
ACTIVITIES' DESCRIPTION
-Participation of a group of educators (9) in a training seminar entitled ‘ Web 2.0 Tools for effective Teaching and Project Work’,organized by ‘Teachers Training Institute’ (pic number: 949033063), in Krakow, Poland. Duration: 10 days.
-Participation of a group of educators (6) in a training seminar, entitled “E-learning: Why, What, How’,organized by ‘Serpentina Training Courses’ (pic number:948592295) in Lisbon, Portugal. Duration: 6 days.
-Digitization of the educational material is going to start.
-As soon as the second activity is completed, the implementation of an e-learning platform and a lesson plan depository platform is going to take place.
-Conducting of results dissemination activities towards internal bodies (teachers’ board,students) and external organizations (schools, colleagues, local authorities).
-Throughout the plan, assessment procedures of the plan activities are going to take place.
NUMBER-PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS:
Total number of the participating educators:15
For the first basic activity (‘Web 2.0 Tools for Effective Teaching and Project Work’), 9 colleagues of general and technical specializations have been chosen. The necessary criteria are considered to be the excellent knowledge of the English language and the basic knowledge of the use of H/Y.All the participants have stated their wish for the introduction of ICT and Internet into their everyday teaching together with their commitment for participation in dissemination activities that will transmit the knowledge to the rest of the colleagues.An IT teacher , responsible for the implementation of the ERASMUS KA2 programme, is going to participate,who is going to function in support of the team.An English teacher is going to participate, for the same reason, as well as part of the school administration, in order to support the activity, in terms of organization, and assess it, too.
For the second activity (‘E-learning: Why, What, How”) , IT teachers of the school have been chosen (4), as the responsible ones for the deliverables of the plan (e-learning platform, lesson plans depository, blog). Besides, a part of the administration and an educator who showed interest have been chosen, too.

OUTCOMES-IMPACT:
Encouragement of ICT and Internet use in the everyday educational procedure. Introduction of teamwork project methods.
Encouragement of sharing best practices, ideas and materials between colleagues within the EU.
Promotion of student-centred pedagogical approaches and problem-solving practices through the parallel use of Internet tools.
Increase of the educators’ beneficial free time, which will be the outcome of the more effective organization of their educational material.
Reduction of the phenomenon of students’ early school leaving, through the provision of access to the e-learning platform to the students. This will also be accomplished through the provision of educational material, easily accessible, to the students.
Improvement of linguistic skills both of educators and students.
LONG-TERM BENEFITS:
Improvement of their collaboration abilities at a European level.
Area and local products' promotion.
Transmission of experience and knowledge to other schools, as well as local authorities.
