The European Development Project of the Group of Schools of Amareleja meets the main weaknesses identified by the the General Inspection of Education and Science report - IGEC, which refers to some aspects that need to be improved, in particular, the existence of some teaching practices innovative, impractical and poorly directed to a young, in the XXI century population, a fact that also detected in the autonomy agreement. Thus, the main priority / gold of the institution is to improve the skills of participants in ICT, with regard to the introduction of new teaching practices that match the current interests of the internet user generation of students. This will be the most effective way to promote educational success and reduce early school leaving alarming rates in the region of Alentejo- 25%.
The project "Amareleja connected to Europe through ICT" will include one mobility flow, covering 7 participants- teachers who will be selected in a clear and transparent way, as can be seen in the section F. "Participants' Profile".
The training institute will be the "International Training Center" in Praga- Czech Republic. Participants will attend the course "Innovative approaches to teaching", which perfectly matched the most urgent needs of the institution.
As for activities, they will prove to be fruitful for the participants, as will update the participants with the most current and innovative teaching methods in the classroom context. Thus, the activities will focus on:
- Innovative pedagogical practices using ICT;
- Teaching methods associated with real tasks;
- Types of alternative assessment;
- Development of creative classes.
The selection of the trainer organization is related to the fact that they reveal wide teacher training experience, showed highly skilled staff and the "feedback" given by the director on issues related to the modular course rosters.
The impact of the project will be seen in the substantial improvement of the type of classes implemented in AE Amareleja, the largest teachers' motivation, improvement of foreign language skills, presentation of new skills in ICT, to promote the European dimension in the institution and the introduction of new projects in Action 2 and through the "eTwinning".
The long-term benefits will be reflected in the increased success rate of students and respective reduction of early School dropout in the Alentejo region. On the other hand, is expected to broaden and diversify the consortia created by AE Amareleja.
Both the impacts of mobility as the results will be measured through surveys applied to students, teachers, educators in the region and parents.
Finally, the project will be managed and disseminated through the "eTwinning" platform, continuing running after its completion.
