"The project AWARE – All we are researchers! main goal is to enhance public recognition of researchers and their role in society and to encourage young people in Serbia to embark on scientific career. The following project objectives are defined: to give the public the opportunity to meet researchers and revile unknown sides of their life and work and to show them as ordinary people with extraordinary jobs; to raise the public awareness on researchers' contribution to society, progress and development; to highlight the EU support to researchers and especially the new opportunities for researchers in Serbia after becoming step closer to EU;To make science and the respective career more attractive for young peopleThe project events will target all age groups and educational backgrounds and they will take place in Novi Sad and will provide unique opportunities to the public to interact and have fun with researchers. Visitors will have the opportunity to understand science by experiencing its day-to-day practices, by visiting the spaces and places where research is carried out and by coming into contact with its machinery and equipment, but above all by meeting and talking to those directly involved – researchers. European corner - providing information on Europe and European actions in favour of researchers and research will be present at the venue.At least 100 researchers are expected to participate in this event. At least 50 different stands with hands-on experiments and interactive activities are expected in this event. At least 5000 visitors are expected to visit activates during the day. To make as many people aware of the upcoming event and to communicate the message of the event also to non-comers, awareness campaign is planned for the project. Awareness campaign is expected to reach at least 150.000 people. The impact of the event will be accurately assessed through questionnaires, interviews and enquiries towards participants and researchers themselves."
