All the colours of the rainbow
Start date: Aug 1, 2013,

Project “All the colors of the rainbow” Is going to rally young people from European countries with different backgrounds and perspectives to discuss and experience poverty and social exclusion problems. The title of the project has a double metaphorical meaning. First of all there is the racial or ethnic diversity in society and on top of that there are many other socio-economic barriers and differences, such as disabilities and/or access to education and services, therefore these should be taken into consideration in understanding poverty. The youth exchange will be to impress upon youngsters that poverty has many different sides. The workshops will take place over one week and participants will include both representatives from the Roma communities and/or minority communities as well as volunteers and other member of civil society. The seminar will be divided into two sections: poverty from lacking economic resources such as adequate food, water, shelter, and clothing; and poverty from a lack of opportunities such as the education allowing one to participate in societal decision making and civil life. The final result of the workshops will be an international street art performance in the local community bring attention to the public the diversity of moralization and poverty and hopefully work towards breaking down the barriers of inclusion.Objectives:-Building up understanding between youngsters facing different kinds of poverty and social difficulties;- fostering mutual understanding and respect between minority and majority groups;- learning about aspects of poverty and marginalisation to better understand the complexity;- to provide opportunity for young people to stand up for their right and speak up about poverty and marginalisation- allow participants to self reflect on personal, national and European identity- to increase provide youngsters with skills to be more active in social life.
