Against the background of widespread recession and intense competition from the global economy in a difficult socioeconomic situation for the country, the role of the agricultural sector is particularly important. Studies and analyzes indicate that the primary sector may be one of the key drivers for growth and restart the Greek economy .
Tough competition, the introduction of cheap agricultural products from third countries, the obligation to secure and economic standardization, certification and the need to diversify impose immediate reorganization of the sector’s supply chain, since most of the cost in an agricultural product is the logistics cost.
The project submitted by the consortium AGROLOGISTICS ( participating Chambers of Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala, Karditsa and Larissa Farmers Agricultural Association ),coordinating by the Chamber of Larissa. The project addressed identified training needs in ways that organized the logistics chain and upgraded operating rural SMEs by integrating New Technologies and enhanced possibilities for producing and marketing new products and developing partnerships between producers and industry.
The consortium AGROLOGISTICS knowing the importance of the supply chain and the quality and cost of logistics services for the viability of a business, foreseeing the potential of new, dynamic and unknown to many of the Agro-Logistics world, wanting help to change the way they think and attempting the SMEs in Thessaly, decided to submit this project that human resources managers, planning training courses, trainers and managers of SMEs in the agricultural sector to:
1)gain access to the right information sources, to help increase the competitiveness of their business by adopting well-planned and cost Agro-Logistics services.
2)understand the importance of integrating modern technological solutions for the production, packaging, storage and distribution of agricultural products
3)suggest ways to improve their company profile and promote incentives for the adoption of the principles and philosophy of business cooperation for the joint marketing of products and services to supply the market with agricultural products
4)adopt a new business philosophy of SMEs sustainability, which generates openness, integration of innovative solutions, transfer of good practices and positive relationship between environmental and financial performance
Through the project is expected to:
1)improve the level of knowledge, skills and abilities (with particular importance for the labor market) of the participants
2)improve quality, increase accessibility and enrichment topics of training with innovative approach issues of Logistics Science (logistics)
3)improving the quality, innovation, competitiveness and extroversion business of agriculture sector through transnational cooperation and technology transfer
4)study cases and transfer of good practices in managing networks of production, processing, packing and distribution of agricultural products
5)highlighting the importance of European dimension of education - training and lifelong learning through the promotion of mobility, cooperation and transfer of good practice between partners from d
6)the satisfaction of the participants, increasing confidence and enhancing self-awareness and professional profile
7)promote the linguistic diversity of the EU and intercultural awareness .
Beneficiaries of the project are 96 people and will be implemented with 4 flows to Italy, Austria, Spain and England in two years period. It involved managers of human resources, planning of training, trainers and managers of SMEs in the agricultural sector of the region of Thessaly. Most of the participants are university graduates and speak the working language.
Participants will follow a comprehensive training program tailored to the educational needs that includes Indoor Sessions, Workshops, Thematic and Cultural visits and would be in line with the methodology of the project.
The project will contribute to the effort to modernize the agricultural sector through the creative collaboration of three production sectors, namely primary with "clean" and PDO production, secondary processing with modern solutions, innovative products and packaging and Tertiary with modern product management, logistics, marketing and exports.
