Climate change is to a large extent constituted by increasing temperatures and changed precipitation patterns. Any change of these critical factors has implications on the frequency & extent of natural hazards. The uncertainties and the increase of natural hazards due to the impacts of CC requires concerted management in the Alpine Space. AdaptAlp will improve information on impacts of CC esp. on regional level (e.g. high resolution modeling, design events) and evaluate different methods of risk assessment, hazard mapping & risk management in the Alpine Space. The activities concentrate on identification of best methods & transferring of best practice experiences into adaptation measures in model regions.Risk reduction by raising the awareness of local stakeholders is a further issue in AdaptAlp. The know-how generated in AdaptAlp will be synthesized and integrated into practice of technical authorities.Recommendations will be given to policy makers and local stakeholders. Achievements: With the end of the project‘s runtime approaching, many activities are in their final phase with several outputs already having been achieved. Regarding water regime a dataset covering the whole Alpine space has been collected. This AdaptAlp dataset is now being transferred to the Global Runoff Data Center (GRDC) and will be made available to public in the next months. Regarding hazard mapping a multilingual transnational glossary concerning geological hazards has been elaborated and will be implemented to the AdaptAlp website. In the field of Risk Prevention&Managent, the RiskPlan tool, enabling risk assessment&providing decision support has continuously been applied. To keep the AdaptAlp partnership, experts and other Alpine Space projects up-to-date about the project´s activities and it’s results, several reports were generated as well as newsletter and press releases were disseminated. Outputs and results can be downloaded on the following ASP web page : http://www.alpine-space.eu/projects/running-projects/?tx_txrunningprojects_pi1[uid]=4&tx_txrunningprojects_pi1[view]=singleView
