Youth exchange “Active for health” will get together 30 participants from 6 different countries: Greece, Germany, Poland, Italy, Turkey and Spain. Using non-formal methodologies, workshops, brainstorming and vary of different activities we are going to motivate young people for having a healthy and well-being way of living. All the activities will be held between 21-29 November in Platamon a small seaside town at the Aegean Sea 50 kilometers away from Larissa town which is NOL organisation‘s base. The town is located in the foothills of mountain Olympus, and framed by the beautiful castle of Platamon and the Palace of 12 Goods. The main idea of this youth exchange is for the participants to understand and experience how a healthy life looks like, which of our habits are affecting positively or negatively our routine and find out ways to change whatever does not work in a good way for the body, mind and soul. The participants are going to experience health in many different levels: sports, yoga, meditation, diets, safety in sexual life, humor as a healthy lifestyle and increase their awareness around these sensitive topics.Nowadays, looking at our society and taking into consideration the cultural and economic circumstances, we see people becoming more passive and less energetic, spending more and more hours in their desks working. Living in the era when humans are trying to compete machines, people are subjected in more work pressure which affects also personal life. People have minimized their free time, consequently the time they spend to relax, exercise and see the beloved ones. Researchers say that the fast pace of living affects negatively not only our psychology but also the routine of our everyday life. A representative example is that people spend daily less than 10 minutes for eating their meal, meaning that the body doesn't have the time which is needed to digest and do the right procedures. This, leaded the researchers to conclusions saying that people don't even have the time to taste the food which they eat mechanically until the food is finished leading themselves to eating disorders. These are some of the facts which assured us that there is a crucial need of change in the Western Civilization. We strongly believe that youths, who are starting their carriers, are the most qualified people to make this change and set a new base for healthier lives. The organisations involved are working in the field of promoting healthy lifestyle, implementing different youth projects connected with sport and outdoor activities or NGOs who would like to be involved in this kind of activities. There is also an APV for group leaders planned between 21-23 October 2016. One of the main approaches of the youth exchange “Active for health” is to organize dissemination activities after the project in your local communities. And it would be nice if you already have some ideas and have a wish to implement them. The main objectives are: • To promote healthy and active lifestyle;• To raise awareness about having a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating habits, and being physically and mentally healthy;• To raise awareness about sexual education, sexual health and preventions;• To inform youngsters about different diets, and food sustainability;• To develop healthy lifestyle habits with the help of outdoor activities, yoga, meditation and alternative exercises; • To reflect on different healthy policies, debate about different realities around Europe and exchange good practices; • To encourage youngsters to participate in intercultural events and include others through healthy lifestyles; • To create online and offline campaigns to promote healthy lifestyle in local communities and all around Europe.During the project participants will develop communicational, intercultural and team working skills; will gain the necessary competence in using social media tools for promoting healthy lifestyle or for making online/offline materials to spread in the local communities; will experience health in many different levels: sports, yoga, meditation, diets, safety in sexual life, humor as a healthy lifestyle and increase their awareness around these sensitive topics; will gain new knowledge about nutrition, food and sustainability, will increase their awareness about different diets and differences between them; will learn how to meditate and even practice meditation for enriching the inner balance; will have a chance to explore their bad habits and their influence on their health; will create a mind map to fight bad habits and to live more consciously; will raise their awareness about ecology and environment we are living in, will search for solutions to overcome bad influence of them on people’s health and also will search for solutions to fight the problem on local level; will learn more about sport activities, brainstorm ideas for alternative exercises and even experience them while participating in interactive workshops.
